Job summary

Good Shepherd – Family Centre is hiring to support individuals and families in Hamilton, Ontario, delivering case management, crisis intervention, and housing assistance. The role involves daily contact with clients, assessments, advocacy, and collaboration with community services.

The job requires post-secondary education in Social Services, experience in residential settings, and a commitment to trauma-informed care. Candidates with CPR certification and a valid G license are an asset.

Qualifications

• Must have post-secondary education in Social Services or related field.
• Experience in residential or shelter settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of homelessness, violence against women/children, immigration, poverty, mental illness, substance use is helpful.
• Commitment to person-centered, trauma-informed, harm-reduction, housing-first framework.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and time management.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to service users including assessment, intake, housing-based case management, crisis prevention and intervention, counselling, advocacy, and linkages to services.
• Perform residential tasks such as housekeeping, turnovers, inventory, inspections, and program operations.
