Vancouver Coastal Health is recruiting Palliative Care Physician(s) for the Vancouver General Hospital Palliative Care Program.
Vancouver General Hospital is a 1000-bed quaternary teaching hospital associated with the University of British Columbia. The hospital supports several provincial programs including Leukemia Bone Marrow Transplant, Solid Organ Transplants (Liver/Lung), Surgical Oncology, and Renal.
We are seeking qualified palliative care physicians to join our program, which comprises a 9-bed tertiary Palliative Care Unit (PCU) and a Consult Service. Current opportunities are for part-time (block-based weeks) or full-time work on the consult service.
As a Palliative Care Physician with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will:
● Play an active role in education and research
● Provide specialist consultation to generalists and specialists within the hospital
● Work within the intradisciplinary teams
Qualifications
Education, Licensing, & Experience:
● Full Licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia
● Certificate of Added Competence in Palliative Care, or an equivalent designation, or
● Fellowship in the Royal College of Specialists in Palliative Medicine
Knowledge & Abilities:
● Strong palliative and primary care clinical skills
● Good communication skills
