Role and Facility Information

This is an opportunity for a Family Physician (FP) or Emergency Physician (EP) to work either full-time or part-time at the North East Urgent and Primary Care Clinic (UPCC) in Vancouver.

The NE UPCC provides urgent care for patients with non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses, and conditions that should be addressed within 12 to 24 hours but do not require hospital emergency department services (CTAS 3, 4, 5). The clinic operates 7 days a week, year-round: Monday to Saturday from 0800 to 2200, and Sunday and holidays from 0900 to 1700.

The clinic offers team-based care, with off-site rapid access to X-ray, ultrasound, and labs. Patients are linked to appropriate care pathways involving specialists, social services, and primary care. All treatments and follow-ups are carefully integrated with existing primary care providers, and patients will be supported in finding primary care if unattached.

The ideal candidate has current or recent experience in primary care, along with urgent or emergent care, and understands the role and importance of foundational primary care, integrating the two effectively. We foster a positive, respectful, and supportive working environment. We seek someone who is positive, energetic, empathic, with strong communication skills and attention to detail.

The Vancouver NE UPCC supports a healthy work-life balance and prioritizes professional development and satisfaction of its multidisciplinary team. The clinic promotes learning, skill development, and continuous quality improvement through clinical simulation exercises and various initiatives.

We are committed to diversity and welcome applications from racialized persons, women, Indigenous/Aboriginal People of North America, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ persons, and others who can contribute to our diverse ideas. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to creating a great workplace and delivering exceptional care. We ensure accommodations and opportunities for all prospective and current employees.
