Job summary

McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association, Central Region in Red Deer, AB is hiring a Full-Time Temporary Family Development Worker for the Family Development Program. The role provides family support, parenting education, and skills training to families referred by Children Services, with a focus on positive relationships and safety.

Responsibilities include supervising visits, engaging youth, coordinating supports, and coaching parents; a diploma in Human Services is required and

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Human Services or related field.
• 1 year frontline human services experience preferred 3 years with families.
• Membership in a Professional Association when applicable.
• Knowledge of parent/child relationships and family dynamics.
• Basic First Aid with CPR & AED.
• Suicide Intervention & De-Escalation Training.
• Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector.
• Clean driving record with Class 5 license and reliable vehicle.
• Knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act.

Responsibilities

• Supervise visits between children and biological family.
• Youth engagement and connecting with natural supports.
• Link families with community supports and advocacy.
• Support cultural engagement and learning.
• Family assessments and interventions.
• Coach/mentor parents, teach life skills.
• Facilitate case conferences and family support meetings.
