Job summary

McMan's Family Resource Network in Drumheller is seeking a Part-Time Permanent Family Support Worker to provide in-home support to families with children aged 0-18 and youth up to 24. The role offers 22 hours per week, with a wage of 25.84–28.90 CAD per hour and travel reimbursement for kilometres traveled.

Applicants must have a post-secondary diploma in Human Services, frontline experience, a valid Class 5 license, and pass standard checks.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary diploma at minimum, preferred degree directly related to Human Services.
  • Required 1 year of frontline human services experience, preferred 3 years with families.
  • Membership in Professional Association when applicable.
  • First Aid Level C with CPR & AED.
  • Intervention Record & Criminal Record Checks with the vulnerable sector.
  • Class 5 driver's license, clean abstract and reliable vehicle for client transportation.
  • Knowledge of the Child, Youth, Family Enhancement Act is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • In home support to families with children aged 0-18.
  • Family Assessment and Intervention.
  • Coaching and mentoring parents.
  • Linking families with community services.
  • Family support and advocacy.
  • Direct support, mentorship, and advocacy to youth (12-24) in individual and group settings.
  • Develop and implement individualized goals and intervention strategies with youth.
  • Support youth in accessing community resources, education, employment, housing and healthcare.
  • Assist youth in building natural supports.
  • Monitor and document progress and maintain case notes.
  • Assist with conflict resolution and promote a safe, inclusive environment.

Our Family Resource Network located in Drumheller is seeking a:

Part-Time Permanent Family Support Worker

The FRN (Family Resource Network) is funded through the Childcare and Early Intervention Delivery Branch of The Ministry of Children and Family Services and has been created to provide Alberta families, with children aged 0-18 and youth up to age 24 with evidence based and informed services. The services offered by the FRN will include child development, well-being support, caregiver capacity building support, and social connections and support.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Post secondary diploma at minimum, preferred degree directly related to Human Services from an approved institution
  • Required 1 year of frontline human services experience, preferred 3 years of human services work related to working with families
  • Proof of Membership in Professional Association (when applicable)
  • Committed to provide common sense, understandable and useful support to youth.
  • Basic First Aid Level C with adult, child, and infant CPR &AED
  • Intervention Record & Criminal Record Checks with the vulnerable sector
  • Class 5 drivers license, clean drivers abstract and reliable vehicle for client transportation required.
  • Knowledge of the Child, Youth, Family Enhancement Act considered an asset.
