Job summary

The Salvation Army in Kitchener is seeking a full-time Program Support at the Family Care Centre to coordinate community programs, assist with the Christmas Kettle Campaign, and provide front-line client service. You will manage intake, referrals, and confidential records, ensuring dignity and respect for all clients.

Required qualifications include a Community College Certificate in social services, Safe Food Handling, and First Aid/CPR, plus a valid G license.

Qualifications

Completion of a Community College Certificate in social services, Community Services, or equivalent is preferred.
Current Safe Food Handling and valid First Aid & CPR is required or willingness to obtain.
Mental Health First Aid is recommended.
A valid Ontario Drivers License (class G) and driving abstract are required.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and support Family Care Centre programs (e.g., cooking, sewing, language, family, day camp).
Coordinate the Christmas Kettle Campaign with staff/volunteers and ensure schedules and reports.
Greet clients, conduct initial intake and assess needs for food, clothing and household items.
Maintain confidential records, referrals, and reporting systems.
