Job summary

Kawartha Lakes is seeking a Facility Maintenance Operator II in Community Services for the North region. The role supports operation and maintenance of community centres and arenas to ensure safe, clean spaces for public use in Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon.

The position is permanent part-time, up to 24 hours per week, with day, afternoon, evening and weekend shifts from September to March. A valid Ontario G driver's license is required, and a Vulnerable Sector Check will be requested upon

Qualifications

• Experience in arenas/ice operations or willingness to learn.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Excellent customer-service and strong interpersonal skills.
• First Aid and CPR preferred.
• Possess a valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s Licence.
• Conditional offer will require a acceptable Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Search.

• Cleaning of washrooms and building
• Assist in the collection of facility revenue
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills/ Education Required

• Previous experience in arenas/ice operations or willingness and ability to learn
• Mechanical aptitude
• Experience with preventive maintenance of various types of equipment preferred
• Excellent customer-service, effective oral communication and strong interpersonal skills to deal with members of the public and staff
• First Aid and CPR preferred
• Possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s Licence
• Upon a conditional offer of employment, an acceptable Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, will be required
