Our client, a leading food manufacturing company, is seeking a hands-on Facilities Technician to maintain multiple manufacturing sites in the Peel Region area. The role requires a self-starter with solid experience in building maintenance and the ability to manage repairs, preventive maintenance, and contractor coordination.

Qualifications

  • Experience in facilities or building maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on skills in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
  • Knowledge of HVAC and facility equipment is an asset.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a self-starter mentality.
  • Ability to work independently and handle a variety of maintenance tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle; personal truck strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work at heights and perform physical maintenance duties.
  • GMP or food manufacturing experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general facility repairs including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, and minor repairs.
  • Replace HVAC filters, lightbulbs, door hardware, belts, and other components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressors, and other facility equipment.
  • Inspect facilities and identify issues before they become major problems.
  • Oversee contractors and vendors performing maintenance and repairs.
  • Help maintain outdoor areas, sprinkler systems, and seasonal services such as snow removal.
  • Assist with equipment moves, renovations, upgrades, and other facility projects.
  • Transport tools, parts, and equipment between sites.
  • Ensure facilities remain safe, clean, organized, and in good working order.
