Job summary

Shearer’s Foods is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician for a contract role with rotational shifts. The successful candidate will perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs of HVAC, lighting and plumbing systems across our manufacturing facility.

You will help keep washrooms, walkways, and parking areas safe and compliant. Experience in a manufacturing setting, use of hand and power tools, and adherence to safety procedures are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Perform routine inspections of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing and lighting.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and respond to breakdowns promptly.
• Maintain and repair HVAC, lighting and plumbing systems, and facility areas.
• Follow safety standards and report hazards; maintain logs and records.

Facility Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, Roof, structural, Facility( washrooms, walkway, parking area )
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Respond to breakdowns and repair issues in a timely manner
• Maintain and repair:
• HVAC systems
• lighting
• Plumbing systems
• Facility( washrooms, walkway, parking area ), scissor lifts, boom lift, forklift.
• Ensure all systems operate efficiently and safely
• Monitor building condition including walls, floors, roofing, and doors
• Conduct minor civil work (painting, patching, repairs)
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Identify and report potential hazards
• Followlockout/tagout and safe work procedures
• Maintain maintenance logs and records
• Report recurring issues and recommend improvements
• Support audits and inspections
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
• The role requires 2 years of facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Exposure to high and low temperatures
• Fumes or airborne particles

• Moving mechanical parts and vibration

• Loud noise level
