GENERAL FUNCTION

The Facilities Service Custodian maintains a clean environment for facility staff and guests.

Working in our Mississauga location from 9:30 am to 6 pm at 40 hours per week with flexibility as per business needs and reporting to the Production Manager. Training is provided during shift hours of 9:30 am to 6 pm. This position requires standing and walking for the majority of any shift. Work areas may have a strong smell.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the production areas.
• Empty all trash cans from production and office areas.
• Remove trash from the facility and place it in the appropriate receptacle.
• Dust all furniture and fixture surfaces and vacuum carpets in entrances, hallways, and offices.
• Use a mop to clean non-carpeted production areas.
• Clean restrooms, break rooms, and offices with appropriate cleaning products to acceptable standards.
• Mop restroom and break room floors.
• Clean windows and blinds.
• Maintain facility grounds, including trash removal, yard waste, and minor repairs.
• Restock all supplies.
• Write and record basic information such as filling out forms, reports, and taking messages.
• Communicate regularly with your manager on your progress and any issues encountered.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED (Equivalent)
• Previous custodial experience is an asset.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions such as lists, notes, and labels.
• Ability to complete tasks independently.
• Ability to lift and move 30-50 lbs at waist level regularly.
• Willingness to work weekends or overtime as needed.
