Position Overview

General Function

The Facilities Service Custodian maintains a clean environment for staff and guests.

Location: Mississauga, working hours: 9:30 am to 6 pm, 40 hours/week with flexibility. Training provided during shift hours. The role involves standing, walking, and working in areas with strong smells.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist in maintaining cleanliness of production areas.
2. Empty trash cans from production and office areas.
3. Remove trash from the facility and dispose of it properly.
4. Dust furniture and fixtures; vacuum carpets in entrances, hallways, and offices.
5. Use mop to clean non-carpeted production areas.
6. Clean restrooms, break rooms, and offices with appropriate products to accepted standards.
7. Mop restroom and break room floors.
8. Clean windows and blinds.
9. Maintain facility grounds, including trash removal and minor repairs.
10. Restock supplies.
11. Record basic information such as forms, reports, and messages.
12. Communicate regularly with your manager about progress and issues.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma or GED.
2. Previous custodial experience is an asset.
3. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
4. Ability to complete tasks independently.
5. Ability to lift and move 30-50 lbs regularly.
6. Willingness to work weekends or overtime as needed.
