Job summary

Prairie Valley School Division is seeking an Assistant Facilities Supervisor to coordinate maintenance across division facilities and lead internal trades. The role involves supervising technicians, managing preventative maintenance, and ensuring safe, efficient operation of building systems.

The position requires five years of building maintenance experience, supervisory skills, and knowledge of OH&S and BAS.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson or certification in Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration/HVAC, Power Engineer or a related technical field.
• Facility Management Professional (FMP) designation would be an asset.
• Minimum five years of experience in building maintenance, trades coordination, or technical facility operations.
• Minimum three years supervising or leading trades or maintenance staff.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems in institutional or commercial settings.
• Knowledge of OH&S, WHMIS, confined space, lockout/tagout, and safe work practices.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license and ability to travel between sites.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, manuals, and specifications.
• Proficiency with CMMS, BAS, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the work of maintenance technicians, plumbers, electricians, and contracted trades.
• Prioritize, assign, and monitor maintenance tasks and work orders for timely completion.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues.
• Ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with Division standards and regulatory requirements.
• Implement preventative maintenance schedules for building systems and components.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Oversee operation of building HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
