Job summary

Aerotek is hiring a Maintenance Lead in Abbotsford, BC, a dual-site role located 15 minutes apart. The contract-to-hire position oversees reliability, safety and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment, facilities and grounds.

You will lead preventive maintenance programs, manage personnel and contractors, and drive cost-effective, uninterrupted production while ensuring safety compliance and high standards across sites.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of progressive maintenance experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
  • 2–3 years of direct supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building systems.
  • Trade certification or technical diploma in a maintenance-related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OH&S and WorkSafeBC regulations.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence required to travel between Abbotsford sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Facility Care across offices, production areas, service bays and warehouses.
  • Maintain and optimize HVAC, plumbing, electrical, compressed air, fire protection and security systems.
  • Develop and manage predictive and preventive maintenance programs for equipment.
  • Prioritize maintenance requests based on business impact to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Source, coordinate and supervise external vendors while ensuring safety standards.
  • Manage the annual maintenance budget and track performance metrics.
  • Standardize maintenance practices to ensure WorkSafeBC compliance.

Salary: $83,200 – $101,920 per year (Equivalent to $40.00 – $49.00/hr)

Position Overview

Are you a skilled maintenance professional ready to step into a vital leadership role? As our Maintenance Lead , you will drive the reliability, safety, and continuous improvement of our manufacturing equipment, service shops, buildings, and grounds.

You will lead preventive maintenance programs, manage dedicated personnel and contractors, oversee capital improvement projects, and ensure we maintain a safe, cost-effective, and uninterrupted production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Facility Care: Oversee the upkeep and housekeeping of all offices, production areas, service bays, and warehouses.

  • System Management: Maintain and optimize HVAC, plumbing, electrical, compressed air, fire protection, and security systems.

  • Minimize Downtime: Develop, implement, and manage predictive and preventive maintenance programs for all manufacturing equipment.

  • Support Production: Prioritize maintenance requests based on business impact to keep operations running smoothly.

  • Manage Contractors: Source, coordinate, and supervise external vendors, ensuring strict adherence to safety standards.

  • Budgeting & Metrics: Manage the annual maintenance budget, identify cost-saving wins, and track performance metrics.

  • Safety Champion: Standardize maintenance practices and ensure 100% compliance with WorkSafeBC requirements.

What You Bring (Essential Skills)
  • Experience: 5–7 years of progressive maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or transportation environment.

  • Leadership: 2–3 years of direct supervisory or team leadership experience.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building infrastructure systems.

  • Education: A trade certification or technical diploma in a maintenance-related field is highly preferred.

  • Safety First: Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and WorkSafeBC regulations.

  • Logistics: Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (required to travel between our two Abbotsford sites).

  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift 25–50 lbs regularly, and occasionally over 50 lbs with team assistance or lifting tools.

Work Environment

This is a dynamic, active role within an industrial manufacturing environment. You will divide your time between two production sites located just 15 minutes apart in Abbotsford.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Abbotsford, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $49.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
