Simaril is a Winnipeg-based non-profit organization seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor to manage our facilities and maintenance across locations. You will build strong facilities processes, coordinate maintenance needs, and oversee inspections and regulatory requirements to ensure safe, reliable spaces.
You will supervise building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), manage vendors, track maintenance history, and support new site projects.
Simaril is a Winnipeg-based non-profit organization that has supported people to build full, meaningful lives since 1987.
Our supports are tailored to each person’s goals, preferences, strengths, and level of support needed. We provide residential and community-based programs, including Residential Living, Supported Independent Living, Home Share, Respite, and Cluster services.
Across our programs, we focus on helping people build greater choice, independence, connection, and belonging in everyday life.
Our work is guided by three values: Respecting, Empowering, and Uniting.
We believe a good life is shaped by the freedom to make choices, build relationships, feel connected, and belong.
Our role is to create the conditions that make that possible. We support people to build lives that reflect who they are, what matters to them, and how they want to live.
All of that purpose guides how we work, how we make decisions, and how we grow.
We are looking for a Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor to manage Simaril’s facilities and maintenance function across our locations.
This role is responsible for ensuring our homes, workplaces, vehicles, and building systems are safe, reliable, compliant, and well maintained.
You will develop strong facilities processes, coordinate maintenance needs, manage vendors and contractors, oversee inspections and regulatory requirements, and support new locations and facility projects.
We are more interested in your experience, judgement, and ability to manage complex facility needs than a specific degree.
You will bring:
Experience in hotels, restaurants, retail, non-profit organizations, residential operations, property management, or other multi-site environments would be an asset.
You create systems that prevent problems instead of constantly reacting to them.
Licenses, permits, inspections, and building requirements are current and completed on time.
Health and safety risks are identified early and addressed before they become bigger issues.
Maintenance priorities are clear and followed through.
Vendors and contractors deliver reliable, quality service.
Leadership has clear information about facility needs, risks, and upcoming priorities.
Most importantly, the people who live and work in Simaril spaces can rely on those spaces being safe, functional, and well maintained.
Some after-hours availability may be required for urgent facility matters.
If you know how to manage facilities, build strong processes, work effectively with vendors and contractors, and keep multiple priorities moving, we would like to hear from you.
Simaril is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants with different backgrounds and experiences.
Respecting. Empowering. Uniting.
