Job summary

Science World is seeking a Building Maintenance Person to deliver day-to-day maintenance of the facility, grounds, and parking areas. You will respond to work orders, perform preventive tasks, and support building operations with a focus on safety and quality.

The role requires hands-on maintenance, ability to work independently or with a team, and a valid BC driver’s license. Typical hours support a seven-day operation and may include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Grade 12 education preferred.
• Maintenance experience in public facilities or commercial buildings.
• Basic knowledge of heating, ventilation and air conditioning is an asset.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and complete daily work orders and service requests.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Patch, paint, and perform general repairs on building infrastructure.
• Support operational needs such as furniture moves and workspace changes.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of mechanical rooms and common areas.
• Assist trades contractors and support building operators.
• Identify issues requiring escalation and report deficiencies promptly.
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment.
