Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Facilities Maintenance professional in Vancouver to perform routine and preventive maintenance, monitor mechanical and electrical systems, and manage work orders from dispatch to completion. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and client satisfaction in daily service delivery.

You will work to ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety standards, wear PPE, and contribute to facility-related projects while maintaining strong relations with tenants and customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of facility operations and maintenance work experience.
• Knowledge of facility operations and maintenance processes and practices.
• Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair non-technical facility components.
• Ability to provide observations about facility conditions and deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancement and repair.
• Ability to research, learn, and gain greater proficiency in applying on-the-job fire, life, and building codes and standards.
• Strong environment, health and safety mindset and ability to work safely.
• Strong client-service orientation with a sense of urgency.
• Effective communication for data relay and feedback.
• Basic knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings and information.
• Self-motivated and demonstrated maintenance/repair skills.
• Comfort with shifts, on-call/standby, and emergency call outs.
• Willingness to wear PPE and meet enhanced security clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs work in accordance with established processes and practices.
• Complies with environmental, health and safety, fire protection requirements.
• Performs regular facility technical and non-technical monitoring and inspection.
• Responds to routine service requests and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Operates facility mechanical, electrical and other systems.
• Manages work order lifecycle from dispatched to completion and records resolutions in CMMS.
• Assists in implementing PM programs and escalates deficiencies and related documents.
