Job summary

Sodexo Canada Ltd in British Columbia is seeking a General Maintenance Technician for a temporary contract to keep remote sites running smoothly. You will perform general maintenance, minor repairs, and support operations to create a safe, comfortable living environment for workers living far from home.

The role requires basic trade skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work nights or shift hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year experience with commercial facility snow removal and grounds keeping.
• Proven experience with hand and power tools.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must have good attendance and performance records.
• Must be able to work nights/shift work.
• Ability to work well alone and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance service or repairs in one or more skill areas, including minor plumbing, minor carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, or installations, or vehicle servicing.
• Perform duties including snow clearing, shoveling, and groundskeeping work.
• Changes bulbs, fixes bathroom fans, installs dispensers, changes filters, locks, etc., not requiring licensed trades.
• In emergencies, assist with necessary tasks as directed.
• Cleans and lubricates parts; identifies unsafe conditions.
• May drive a cart or other vehicle; assist with events.
• Assist skilled trades workers to learn new skills for advancement.
• Order parts with management approval; inventory management.
• Attend safety trainings and comply with policies.
