Job summary

New Flyer, North America's heavy-duty transit bus leader, is seeking a facilities project manager at the Winnipeg plant. You will drive project scope, budgets, and risk mitigation while supporting lean manufacturing initiatives and CAD layout integrity.

Travel up to 15% is required and PMP is a plus. Ideal candidates hold an engineering-related degree with 2–5 years in project management, strong Excel and drawing-reading skills, and the ability to communicate effectively within cross-functional

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in engineering and/or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of project management experience.
  • Proficient Excel for project and business analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering/architectural drawings.
  • Basic Oracle understanding.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and flexibility to shift priorities.
  • Willingness to travel 5–15%.

  • Reviews and manages lease negotiations for North American Bus and Coach facilities.
  • Ensures accurate CAD layouts for all company facilities are maintained.

  • Specifies and facilitates capital and equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications.
  • Implements and facilitates lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Provides support to process planning, tool and die, and manufacturing engineering.
  • Promotes an environment of safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

Position Summary

With a strong emphasis on project management, this position is responsible for supporting facilities engineering activities related to the New Flyer Winnipeg plant and the New Flyer Facility Council. This position will identify schedules, scopes, budget estimations, implementation plans and risk mitigation.

What You Need to Be Successful
  • Post-secondary education in engineering and/or a related field.
  • 2-5 years prior experience in Project Management.
  • Proven experience using Excel to perform project/business analysis.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering and/or architectural drawings.
  • Basic understanding of Oracle is required.
  • Exceptional presentation and communications skills.
  • Excellent team player with ability to shift priorities quickly.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification considered a strong asset.
  • This position will require up to 5-15 % of travel.
