Job summary

St. Albert Public Schools is seeking a Full Time, Probationary Caretaker 4 for Lois E. Hole Elementary School. The role covers cleaning designated areas, minor maintenance, and collaborating with staff and community groups.

Hours are 37.5 per week, 7.5 hours daily, Monday to Friday, with shifts 7:00-9:00am and 11:30am-5:30pm. The hourly rate is $24.26 under the CUPE Collective Agreement.

Qualifications

• This work involves routine cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to maintain school buildings and property.
• Entry level knowledge of cleaning equipment operation as well as the chemicals and cleaning products used.
• Ability to lift and handle cleaning equipment and furniture.
• Basic knowledge of repair procedures.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Up to 6 months experience in building cleaning.
• WHMIS training would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assigned to a work location based on the Division’s operational needs and may relocate between Division sites.
• Clean designated areas of Division facilities, perform minor maintenance, and foster positive working relationships with staff and students.

St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full Time, Probationary, Caretaker 4 for a work assignment with Facilities Services at Lois E. Hole Elementary School.

Hours of Work : 37.50hrs./week; 7.5 hrs./day Monday-Friday; Full Time, Probationary

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will be assigned to a work location based on the Division’s operational needs and must be willing and able to work at, and relocate between, Division sites as required. Under the direction of the Assistant Manager of Facilities Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning designated areas of Division facilities, performing minor maintenance tasks, and fostering positive working relationships with staff, students, and community user groups.
