Job summary

St. Albert Public Schools is hiring a full-time, probationary Educational Assistant 1 (EA1) for École Élémentaire Leo Nickerson Elementary School.

The position is 30 hours per week (6 hours per day), Monday to Friday, at $25.89 per hour under the CUPE Collective Agreement. The role requires experience implementing Positive Behavior Support (PBS) and supporting ILP/IPP goals, with strong behavior management and collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience implementing Positive Behavior Support (PBS) plan strategies.
• Experience supporting ILP and IPP goals.
• Verbal Intervention Training is considered an asset.
• Formal post-secondary education in a related field is preferred.
• Experience using assistive technology to support student learning is an asset.
• Strong skills in managing student behavior effectively and respectfully.
• Experience collaborating as part of a multi-disciplinary team is an asset.
• Demonstrated experience working with students with diverse learning and behavioral needs, including autism.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience supporting students in Division 1 and Division 2

St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting aFull Time, Probationary, Educational Assistant 1 (EA1) for a work assignment at École Élémentaire Leo Nickerson Elementary School.

Hours of Work : 30.0hrs. /week; 6.0 hrs. /day; Monday-Friday; Full Time, Probationary

Hourly Rate: $25.89 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement

Expected End Date: June 29, 2027

Specific Needs/Requirements for this position:

• Proven experience implementing Positive Behavior Support (PBS) plan strategies
