Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Superintendent under the Fabrication Manager to supervise shop floor fabrication activities, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance.

The role involves coordinating with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams on project master schedules and production processes. Ideal candidates bring at least 5 years of metal fabrication supervision in a unionized environment, strong leadership and communication skills, and proficiency with MS

Qualifications

• Technical college diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years metal fabrication/manufacturing and subcontractor supervision in a unionized environment.
• Ability to supervise metal fabrication shop floor.
• Knowledge of fabrication, cost control, scheduling, safety requirements and QA processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent relationships with clients, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and public.
• Ensure all work is conducted safely in compliance with safety, quality and human performance policies.
• Assist in developing, monitoring and updating of project schedule with the Fabrication Manager; ensure subcontractors comply with the master schedule.
• Lead subcontractors and trades, plan methods, manpower levels, materials, tools, equipment and work schedules.
• Coordinate with EHS teams to enforce project safety programs and Aecon’s safety culture.
• Interface with client representatives and other stakeholders to ensure quality and progress per ITPs and drawings.
