Job summary

Pursuit in Banff is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations and special events, including banquets, weddings, and conferences. You will supervise staff, recruit and train, ensure food safety, manage inventory, scheduling, and payroll, and maintain guest satisfaction.

This full-time, year-round role offers staff accommodation and the chance to lead a dynamic team in a hospitality-focused destination.

Qualifications

• Flexible to work various shifts (early mornings, late evenings, weekends, split shifts).
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic computer skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to handle numerous tasks.
• Strong leadership qualities and management skills.
• Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related discipline is a strong asset.
• 2 years in hotel/restaurant industry, including at least 1 year supervisory.
• Working knowledge of MICROS or similar POS system is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations and special events, including banquets.
• Supervise staff and ensure guest expectations are exceeded.
• Maintain food hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Assist with recruitment, training, and staff management.
• Oversee inventory management and monthly counts; ensure tidy storage locations.
• Address customer complaints promptly and professionally.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and health codes.
• Assist with cocktail development and menu planning.
• Lead weddings, conferences, and signature events; ensure flawless delivery.
• Handle daily billing and financial responsibilities; assist scheduling and payroll.
• Communicate guest feedback and staff performance across shifts.
