Job summary

FYidoctors Burnaby - 6th Street clinic is seeking an Optical Associate to join our team and help deliver exceptional eyewear experiences to patients in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

The full-time position offers 30-40 hours per week, with clinics open Monday to Saturday. You will greet patients, assist with frame selection, take measurements, support fittings, and assist with billing and scheduling while maintaining outstanding patient service.

Qualifications

• Previous optical or retail experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with computers and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email.
• Educate patients on eyewear options and assist with frame selection for value and fit.
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist.
• Perform frame and facial measurements and ensure proper fit and adjustments.
• Coordinate appointments and prepare prescription printouts.
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and others.
