Job summary

FYidoctors Edmonton - Brewery District is seeking an Optical Associate to join our team. This part-time role (20-29 hours/week) offers opportunities to work in a dynamic, patient-focused environment and contribute to exceptional eyewear experiences.

You will greet patients, assist with frame selection, interpret prescriptions, and help with fittings and billing while delivering outstanding service. Our team is committed to growth and collaboration in a supportive clinic setting.

Qualifications

• Previous optical or retail experience is an asset.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office and general computer skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interactions.
• Collaborative, adaptable, proactive team player with growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients in person, by phone, and via email.
• Educate patients on eyewear options and assist with frame selection.
• Interpret optical prescriptions from the optometrist.
• Take frame and facial measurements for proper fit and adjustments.
• Coordinate appointments and prepare prescription printouts.
• Manage billing and payments for patients and insurers.
• Assist with contact lens fittings and orders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and positive patient experience.
• Support clinic operations with additional duties as required.
