FYidoctors Burnaby - 6th Street clinic is seeking an Optical Associate to join our team and deliver exceptional vision and eyewear experiences. You'll greet patients, help with frame selection, interpret prescriptions, assist with fittings and measurements, manage billing, and support clinic operations in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

This full-time role offers 30-40 hours per week, with a compensation structure including quarterly bonuses at qualifying clinics and a comprehensive

Qualifications

• Previous optical experience or retail experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for connecting with patients and delivering exceptional patient experiences.
• A collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player with a growth mindset, able to manage changing priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, assisting with frame selection to ensure optimal value, quality, aesthetics, and performance
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments
• Coordinate appointments, and prepare prescription printouts
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required
