Manulife seeks an External Insurance Wholesaler to service the Quebec territory. You will proactively engage with advisors and intermediaries, develop plans, and promote Manulife's life and living-benefits products to drive growth.

This role requires full bilingualism (French/English), a university degree or equivalent, proven insurance sales experience, and a valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle. Remote/hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry education.
  • Knowledge of personal and corporate taxation and financial planning.
  • Professional designations such as CLU, CFP or CH.F.C.
  • Sales experience in the insurance industry.
  • Bilingual French and English required.

Responsibilities

Job Overview

We are currently looking for a new External Insurance Wholesaler to serve Quebec territory. Manulife is a leading provider of insurance solutions that helps people make decisions easier and lives better. Through a strong, well-diversified distribution platform which includes independent advisors, contracted agents, financial planners, brokers and distribution partners, we deliver: Market leading individual life insurance, Living benefit products, the best on the Market, Critical illness and disability insurance solutions.

Position Responsibilities
  • Proactively handle relationships with key advisors and intermediaries
  • Be a contact in providing assistance in the resolution of problem situations that may arise with the intermediaries and individuals within the region;
  • Identify opportunities and activities to generate profitable business growth;
  • Develop and execute regular business development plans;
  • Conduct dynamic sales meetings & seminars;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to provide consultants with top-notch marketing support and new sales ideas and concepts;
  • New sales ideas and concepts to Advisors;
  • Maintain agreed upon levels of face-to-face contact with the advisors in the region and record daily activities using the current contact management system.
  • Represent and promote Manulife in the local financial community by developing strong business relationships with advisors and industry associations.
  • Perform a front-line business risk management function through awareness, support and implementation of compliance and company policies with advisors, including supervision of sales related activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous industry sales experience;
  • University Degree or equivalent industry education;
  • Knowledge and expertise in personal and corporate taxation and financial planning;
  • Attained or working on relevant professional designations (CLU, CFP, and CH.F.C.);
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required for this role
  • Fully bilingual (French/English): The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.

  • Knowledge of regulatory issues impacting the sale of life insurance;
  • Expert knowledge of Manulife individual insurance products;
  • Strong knowledge of marketing concept and product application;
  • Strong knowledge of competitive positioning;
  • Facilitation and presentation skills;
  • Self-motivated and strong self-management skills;
  • Ability to develop, organize and deliver proposals, business cases, and estate analysis;
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
