Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) invites experienced geoscience professionals to join the 2027 exploration drilling projects in the Sparwood/Elkford, BC area. You will support the planning and execution of exploration and geoscience programs and uphold EVR's safety, environmental, and community standards.

The role involves field supervision, contractor coordination, and data management, with opportunities to contribute to technical reporting and project close-outs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Geology and eligibility for P.Geo./GIT with EGBC.
• Minimum 3 years geoscience experience, including RC, diamond core, or sonic drilling in greenfields/brownfields environments.
• H2S Alive, BC Mine Supervisor, and First Aid certifications required or obtainable at onboarding.
• Experience in geologic mapping, core logging, geochemical and geophysical applications is an asset.
• Working knowledge of acQuire and MineSight software preferable.
• Coal and/or sedimentary basin geology experience is an asset.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
• Oversee field contractors and coordinate field activities.
• Assist mine geologists with drill program planning, preparation, and logistics.
• Provide on-site project coordination and field supervision for drill site earthworks, drilling and sample activities.
• Undertake proactive contractor management and supervision of field activities by ensuring a daily presence in the project area.
• Complete daily cost, productivity, and project status reporting.
• Act as primary liaison between multiple Contractors and EVR representatives in Mine Operations, Engineering & Geology, Health & Safety, and Contractor Compliance teams.
• Manage the collection and storage of drilling and sampling data from drilling projects in EVR's geological database.
• Monitor field activities to ensure compliance with established standards; identify gaps or improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to the preparation of program close-out and other technical reports.
