Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) is seeking an Environment Coordinator to manage environmental data systems, reporting, and regulatory compliance across site operations in the Elk Valley, BC. You will oversee data management, coordinate regulatory submissions, and support field activities and stakeholder engagement in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Applicants should have a degree in an environmental field and at least three years of regulatory experience.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Forestry, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Minimum three years experience in the field of environmental regulation or compliance, in an industrial environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication, leadership abilities, and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Technical knowledge of federal and provincial compliance practices is an asset.
• Experience with environmental data management, analysis, and reporting is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
• Manage environmental compliance data systems and databases to ensure permit and regulatory requirements are met, and prepare, verify, and submit regulatory data reports and disclosures to regulatory agencies within required timelines.
• Coordinate completion of regulatory compliance obligations from project applications including management plans, permit approvals, and regulatory inspections/audits.
• Organize regulatory inspections and provide action response plans for any inspection findings; fulfill information requests for projects from internal/external groups.
• Develop understanding of permits and regulatory requirements; reconcile legacy information into retrievable systems.
