Job summary

University of Guelph seeks a Coordinator, Experiential Learning Recognition to manage the PCDR QA process and support experiential learning across campus. You will coordinate CELIC and PCDR-AC activities, recruit and mentor student helpers, and develop outreach plans to boost student participation in co-curricular opportunities.

You will engage internal and external partners, promote best practices, and help align experiential learning with institutional standards and student development goals.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in relationship management, outreach and marketing, co-curricular experiential learning program planning and delivery, and/or student advising/coaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and influence relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders while exercising diplomacy, tact, and sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion principles and have experience supporting diverse communities.
  • Strong administrative, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Experience supervising, training, and coaching students.
  • Knowledge of experiential education, career advising, human resource practices, and student development theory is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the University academic programs, co-curricular activities, and procedures is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Orbis Communication's Outcome platform is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the operations and ongoing review of a comprehensive validation and quality assurance process for the University of Guelph’s Professional and Career Development Record (PCDR).
  • Designing, delivering, and evaluating a range of synchronous and asynchronous tools and resources that support internal and external partners in achieving the quality standards required for co-curricular experiential learning and professional development opportunities.
  • Managing all administrative aspects of the CELIC and the PCDR-AC committees including recruiting and onboarding new members, determining agendas, facilitating meetings, and maintaining ongoing communication between members.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive student, staff, and faculty engagement and marketing plan to support increased student participation in co-curricular experiential learning, professional development opportunities, and the PCDR with the goal of one completed opportunity per student.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive plan for validating student-led and off-campus co-curricular opportunities and professional development activities.
  • Recruiting, training, and coaching a team of student Peer Helpers tasked with supporting PCDR and experiential learning outreach activities.
  • Leveraging communications software to maintain regular communication with co-curricular experiential learning and professional development leaders about institutional goals, best practices, and upcoming opportunities.
  • Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with campus and external partners while promoting best practices, continuous improvement, and engagement in experiential learning and professional development opportunities.
