Job summary

University of Toronto Mississauga seeks an Experiential Learning Officer to support and expand experiential learning opportunities across undergraduate education. You will advise faculty and students, foster external partnerships, and help design work-integrated learning experiences including internships and field opportunities.

Reporting to the Manager, Experiential Education, you will collaborate with diverse units to maximize program success and positively represent UTM in the community,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of related experience in an experiential learning environment.
• Experience matching, placing, and supporting students in for-credit student placements.
• Experience in academic advising and providing guidance to students.
• Experience in program development and evaluation.
• Familiarity with database management systems and ROSI.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Ability to understand and apply complex community and university policies and regulations.
• Ability to positively represent UTM in the community and to all members of the University community.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines and priorities, and appreciate and interact well with diverse personalities and cultural backgrounds.
• Must have strong computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe creative suite, and email software, as well as an ability to adapt to and learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Conducting detailed labour market analysis to inform program and partnership development.
• Developing and revising business methods that support employment services activities and objectives.
• Keeping well-informed on policies, rules, regulations and guidelines.
• Ensuring contracts and agreements are consistent with University standards and guidelines.
• Implementing plans that support the development of work-integrated learning opportunities for students.
• Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate.
