Job summary

Fairmont Hot Springs Resort is seeking an Executive Housekeeper to lead our bustling housekeeping and laundry team, maintaining the resort’s high standards of cleanliness and service for guests. Salary is $63,000 per annum, with a strong emphasis on leadership, training, and guest satisfaction.

You will manage daily operations, budgeting, safety, sustainability, and cross-department collaboration to deliver exceptional Rocky Mountain experiences and memories for our guests.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading housekeeping/ laundry teams in high-volume hospitality.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with ability to motivate staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for cross-department coordination.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and cost-control in housekeeping operations.
  • Familiarity with cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
  • WHIMS training completed or willing to obtain.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.

The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for leading all aspects of our busy housekeepingand laundry team. The ideal candidate will ensure the highest standards ofcleanliness and service for our guests, maintaining the resort’s reputation forexcellence.

Salary for this position is $63,000 per annum.

KeyResponsibilities
Leadership & Management
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the housekeepingand laundry team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Develop and implement training programs forhousekeeping staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness and guest service.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicategoals, updates, and performance expectations.
Operational Oversight
  • Oversee daily operations of the housekeepingdepartment, ensuring all areas of the resort are maintained to the higheststandards.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensureseamless guest experiences and address any issues promptly.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order suppliesas needed to ensure efficient operation.
Quality Control
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms,public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence toestablished standards.
  • Implement and maintain quality controlprocedures to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve guest complaintsregarding housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
Budget and Financial Management
  • In conjunction with the Director of GuestServices, develop and manage the housekeeping budget, ensuring cost-effectiveoperations without compromising quality.
  • Monitor expenses and implement cost-savinginitiatives where possible.
  • As requested, prepare reports on departmentalperformance and expenses for senior management.
Health and Safety
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safetyregulations, including proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Conduct regular safety training sessions forhousekeeping staff.
  • Investigate and report any accidents orincidents within the department, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Sustainability
  • Promote and implement sustainablehousekeeping practices to minimize the resort’s environmental impact.
  • Educate staff on eco-friendly practices andensure adherence to the resort’s sustainability policies.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Lead Housekeeping Supervisor or similar role in ahigh-volume hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping and laundry operations, including cleaningtechniques and equipment.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and financial management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be physically fit and able to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to complete WHIMS Training.
  • Knowledge of Maestro and HotSOS preferred.
