Job summary

Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Government invites applications for the Executive Director - Term. This senior role reports to the TH Council and leads governance, executive operations, and financial management to implement laws, policies, and programs.

Starting immediately, the three-year term requires extensive First Nations governance experience, strategic planning, and people leadership. Located in Dawson City, Yukon, with eligibility as noted in the posting.

Qualifications

• Advanced Post-Secondary Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or similar with 4+ years in senior management with First Nations Governments.
• Strong knowledge of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in culture, traditions, and Elders' teachings.
• Extensive government administration experience, especially Indigenous self-government.
• Familiarity with the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Final and Self-Government Agreements and Constitution.
• Experience in HR management and labour relations at a senior level, including conflict resolution.
• Significant experience in senior-level negotiations in Indigenous/intergovernmental contexts.
• Strong fiscal management and budget skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership to implement TH laws, policies and programs.
• Direct and supervise TH employees and support the Senior Management Team.
• Develop annual budgets aligned with Council’s strategic plan.
• Liaise with other governments and agencies to advance TH objectives.
