Job summary

The Ahousaht Nation is seeking an experienced and community-focused Executive Director to lead the Nation’s strategic and operational initiatives. Reporting to Chief and Council, you will oversee departments including Administration, Health, Finance, Housing, and Social Development to advance wellness, self-determination, and cultural preservation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of senior leadership experience with First Nations communities.
  • Strong governance, budgeting, financial reporting, and organizational management.
  • Experience leading complex programs and teams.
  • Experience working with Indigenous governments and communities.
  • Experience securing and managing grants and funding agreements.
  • Knowledge of DRIPA and UNDRIP.
  • Capital project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to multiple departments.
  • Implement Chief and Council directives and strategic priorities.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and audits.
  • Foster partnerships with government, funding agencies, and Indigenous organizations.
  • Represent the Nation with professionalism and integrity.
