Job summary

Medmatch-Recruitment in Ancaster, Ontario, is seeking an Executive Chef to lead the culinary team in our retirement communities. You will oversee food services, shape menus, and provide catering for internal and external events, ensuring therapeutic adaptations as needed.

The role requires 5-7 years of chef experience, leadership experience, and relevant certifications; a clear Criminal Record Check is required.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Cook papers from an accredited institution.
• Red Seal designation preferred.
• Advanced Food Safety certificate.
• Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a chef.
• Minimum of two years in a leadership role in food services.
• Experience in volume food preparation in hospitality or long-term care.
• Clear Criminal Record Check, and Vulnerable Sector Check where applicable.
• Management experience and Alzheimer's or Dementia training are assets.

Responsibilities

• Selects, shapes, and develops the culinary team.
• Providing leadership and overseeing provision of food services.
• Providing catering services for internal and external events.
• Providing input into division menu development.
• Liaising with the Health Services Team to ensure therapeutic menu modification as indicated by medical condition.
