Job summary

Medmatch-Recruitment is seeking an Executive Chef for our client in Ancaster, Ontario. The role leads a culinary team, oversees food services, and provides catering for events within a retirement-care setting.

The Executive Chef will influence menu development, collaborate with Health Services, and ensure therapeutic diet modifications as needed. Strong leadership and extensive culinary experience are required.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Cook papers from an accredited institution.
• Red Seal designation preferred.
• Current and recognized Advanced Food Safety certificate.
• Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a chef.
• Minimum of two years in a leadership role in food services.
• Experience in volume food preparation in the hospitality or long-term care sector.
• Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Selects, shapes, and develops the culinary team.
• Providing leadership and overseeing provision of food services.
• Providing catering services for internal and external events.
• Providing input into division menu development.
• Liaising with the Health Services Team to ensure client receive the appropriate therapeutic menu modification as indicated by their medical condition.

About You

• Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a chef
• Minimum of two years in a leadership role in food services
• Experience in volume food preparation in the hospitality or long-term care sector
• Successful candidates will be required to obtain aclear Criminal Record Check, andwhere applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointment.
• Previous management experience is an asset, as well as any other Alzheimer's or Dementia training courses are considered an asset
