Job summary

Aramark is seeking an Executive Chef to lead culinary operations across multiple dining locations on a major university campus in the Quebec City region. You will shape the culinary vision, manage budgets, and promote sustainable practices while maintaining safety and quality.

You will supervise teams, develop innovative menus, and drive cost control and purchasing activities to deliver high-volume, high-quality food service for students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a high-volume food service environment is required.
  • Leadership and ability to develop a team are essential.
  • Bilingualism FR/EN is an asset in an English-speaking university setting.

As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for the culinary vision and overall food service operations across multiple dining locations on a major university campus in the Quebec City region. You will play a key role in developing innovative food offerings, optimizing operations, and promoting sustainable practices, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise culinary operations across multiple locations and ensure compliance with quality standards and operational excellence.
  • Develop innovative, balanced menus tailored to the needs of a diverse clientele.
  • Manage menu planning, cost control, and pricing strategies.
  • Oversee purchasing, inventory management, receiving, and food production activities.
  • Plan, manage, and monitor operating budgets.
  • Control food and labor costs to ensure efficient resource management.
  • Actively contribute to the development of sustainable and responsible culinary initiatives.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the skills of the culinary team.
  • Identify training needs and support employee development and talent growth.
  • Conduct culinary presentations and cooking demonstrations during special events.
  • Ensure the production of high-quality food in a high-volume environment.
  • Promote a culture of health and safety where employee well-being is a top priority.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of operations and perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • 4 to 5 years experience in a high-volume food service or restaurant environment
  • Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset, as the position operates within a primarily English-speaking university environment.
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Demonstrate rigor and method in daily work.
  • Certificate in hygiene and sanitation from MAPAQ
  • Diploma in food service management/dietary technology/DEP in institutional cooking
