BCITSA in Burnaby seeks an Events Assistant to support planning, delivery and promotion of student events across BCIT campuses. You will handle bookings, equipment, setup and volunteer coordination under the Event Manager.
We value 1–2 years of experience, photography and writing skills, and a proactive, inclusive approach. This is a hybrid role with flexible hours including some evenings and weekends to match event schedules.

Start & End Date: August 24, 2026 – May 28, 2027
Work Hours: Monday to Friday. This position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends based on operational and event requirements.
Compensation: $22.10 – $25.10/hr. The salary range represents the minimum and maximum salary for the position. Employees are typically hired between the minimum and mid-point of the salary range.

The Events Assistant supports the Events department in planning, preparing, promoting, and delivering special events and programs for students. Reporting to the Event Manager, the role involves all aspects of event delivery including room bookings, equipment, set‑ups, tear‑downs, and volunteer coordination across all BCIT campuses. The Events Assistant incorporates BCITSA’s equity, diversity and inclusion values into their work and professional relationships.
You are a proactive and energetic event support professional with 1–2 years of experience, skilled in planning, logistics, and communications. Comfortable with technology, photography, and writing, you thrive in fast‑paced, hands‑on environments, are physically capable of event tasks, and embrace BCITSA’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
