Job summary

BCITSA is seeking a Student Engagement Ambassador to promote programs and services on campus. You will represent BCITSA at tabling events, engage students, and distribute promotional materials in a friendly and professional manner.

The role requires an outgoing BCIT student who can lift up to 11 kg, work Monday to Friday, and maintain a positive customer service approach while following BCITSA policies.

Compensation: $18.50 - $21.00
The salary range represents the minimum and maximum salary for the position. Employees are typically hired between the minimum and mid-point of the salary range.
Start & End Date: August 31, 2026 – December 11, 2026

The Opportunity

The Student Engagement Ambassador support represents BCITSA at campus events and high‑traffic areas to promote upcoming programs, services, and initiatives. This role focuses on student engagement, outreach, and awareness through tabling, conversations, and distribution of promotional materials.

What You Will Do
  • Student Engagement & Promotion:
    • Represent BCITSA at tabling events and campus activations
    • Actively promote and provide information about upcoming events, programs, and services
    • Engage students in a friendly, outgoing, and approachable manner
    • Answer basic questions and direct students to relevant resources
  • Tabling & Event Support:
    • Set up, operate, and take down tabling
    • Distribute promotional materials and giveaways
    • Track student interest and provide feedback to the Engagement Operations Supervisor
  • Customer Service & Communication:
    • Always maintain a positive and professional attitude
    • Communicate clearly with students, staff, and supervisors
    • Escalate complex questions or concerns to the Engagement Operations Supervisor or appropriate staff as applicable
  • Operational Duties:
    • Follow BCITSA policies and procedure
    • Attend required training sessions
    • Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled shifts
  • Other Related Duties:
    • Support other Student Experience initiatives as required
    • Assist with on‑site event support when needed

You are an outgoing and reliable BCIT student who enjoys engaging with peers and creating positive campus experiences. You are confident sharing information, answering questions, and representing BCITSA in a friendly and professional manner. You work well in a team, value equity and inclusion, and are enthusiastic about supporting student life and campus events.

  • KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
    • Customer service or outreach experience
    • Cultural awareness and ability to interact respectfully with diverse communities
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
    • Strong sense of accountability and responsibility
  • REQUIREMENTS:
    • BCIT Student
    • Outgoing, energetic, and confident personality
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 11 kg (25 lbs) and perform physical tasks such as bending, crouching, climbing, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • ASSETS:
    • Previous tabling, promotions, or campus involvement experience
    • Knowledge of BCITSA services and student life
