Okanagan College in Kelowna is seeking a Student Assistant – Recruitment and Events to support the Recruitment department and Campus Administration with event setup, campus tours, and check‑in at events.

This on‑campus role is open to enrolled post‑secondary students, emphasizing teamwork, communication, and organizational skills to help deliver information nights, career fairs, and student life events.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a post‑secondary program at Okanagan College (OC).
  • Prior work experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency with common computer software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with event setup and teardown at Recruitment and Campus Administration events.
  • Greet attendees and provide check-in assistance as needed.
  • Provide campus tours and information at Information Nights and booths.
  • Support local career fairs and other campus recruitment events.
  • Assist with orientation, student life events and student appreciation activities.
  • Offer general administrative support to the Recruitment department.

Your Opportunity

In accordance with Letter of Understanding #1 – Student Employees, and under the direct supervision of the designated supervisor, the Student Assistant – Recruitment and Events, will assist the Recruitment department and the Campus Administration with event set-up; provide general tours; and at events will greet attendees, provide assistance at check-in if required, and other assistance as needed.

Functions and Duties
  • Campus Information Nights
  • Information booths for current students
  • Local career fairs and all other campus recruitment and events
  • Providing of campus tours
  • Orientation, student appreciation and student life events
  • Providing other assistance as needed
Education and Experience

Enrolled in a post‑secondary program at Okanagan College.

Prior work experience is an asset.

  • Proficiency in the use of a variety of computer software applications
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a team with an aptitude for working in a collegial and collaborative environment
