The Location: Hollyburn Country Club is located in West Vancouver at 950 Cross Creek Road. Prior to applying for this position, we strongly encourage you to Google our location to ensure that you will be able to travel to and from work as public transportation is limited.

Position Summary

Our service mission is to provide the Hollyburn Membership with an unparalleled hospitality experience, whether during intimate gatherings or large-scale events. As a Banquet Leader, you will play a key role in executing banquet functions with precision and warmth. You will ensure every detail aligns with our service standards, leading the banquet team to deliver seamless, memorable events that reflect Hollyburn’s commitment to excellence.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead the setup, execution, and teardown of banquet events in alignment with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Supervise and support banquet staff to ensure service is attentive, professional, and timely.
  • Liaise with the culinary team, service staff to ensure all event components run smoothly.
  • Support the Events Manager and Assistant Events Manager in executing the vision and logistics of each event, ensuring client expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Greet clients and guests, addressing any questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor service flow during events, anticipating needs and proactively resolving challenges.
  • Ensure all banquet spaces are clean, organized, and maintained according to Hollyburn standards.
  • Coach and guide new or junior banquet staff to uphold service quality and team cohesion.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations during all phases of the event.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of banquet or hospitality experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
  • Valid Serving It Right certification (required)
  • Food Safe Level 1 certification (preferred)
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Own transportation is an asset, given the Club’s location and limited public transportation options.
  • Candidates aged 19 or older must obtain a Police Information Check with a vulnerable sector search as part of the onboarding process.

Working Conditions

  • This position operates 100% on-site
  • Regular evenings or weekend work is required.
  • Own transportation is an asset as public transportation is not frequent to/from the Club
