Job description

As a competitive, high-energy extrovert with a passion for sports, pop culture, the entertainment industry, and all things social media, you know two things to be true: the best team always wins, and the best stay on top because of hard work and dedication. And like the Patriots dynasty or Drake’s six consecutive #1 LPs, you’re driven to succeed and be the best at whatever you do. That’s why you were made for us.

We’re Showtime Tickets (), and we’ve been providing reliable, consistent access to major entertainment events for over 30 years. Our tickets take people to the events that really matter: last-minute playoff seats, one-of-a-kind tours, and sold-out concerts.

Now we’re looking to add a new member to our team – someone eager to take on a dynamic, challenging, and competitive role, and help people have the experience of a lifetime. That’s where you come in.

As our new Events Specialist, you’ll support our operations team in our ticket buying objectives and connect customers with the unique experiences those tickets provide. Our industry evolves daily, and competition is fierce, so no two days will be the same.

Our success is built on teamwork, so your communication skills, rapport-building across all mediums (phone, email, social media), and flexibility in roles and responsibilities will be critical. We also value organization and project planning skills, as we approach our work on a project basis.

We pride ourselves on enabling people to attend live events that are meaningful to them. Therefore, you should be enthusiastic, helpful, and solution-oriented. Your passion for entertainment will drive your dedication to providing clients with amazing experiences. Knowledge of current trends, especially in technology and social media, is important, as our online presence is central to our business.

Ideal candidates are:

  • Detail- and goal-oriented – understanding how small details contribute to long-term success.
  • A multitasker – comfortable balancing multiple priorities with different timelines.
  • Outgoing – motivated to meet and exceed expectations and continuously improve.
  • A problem solver – seeking better solutions rather than settling for obvious fixes.

Working @ Showtime

This is a full-time, permanent position with flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends. We offer an attractive hourly wage plus commission, benefits, and vacation. Our small team of seven is highly productive, and as the newest member, you’ll have a significant impact from day one. This role offers opportunities for professional growth.

Located in downtown Vancouver, just a block from the SkyTrain, our company culture is friendly and supportive.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in sales or service
  • Experience in event planning and/or project management is a plus
  • Passion for and knowledge of live events and pop culture
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office, Google Apps, and adaptability to new software
  • Ability to research and analyze information from social media platforms to gauge market demand
