Job summary

Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a talented, customer service oriented Event Services Houseperson to join our Event Services team. The Houseperson is responsible for set-ups and tear down of Banquet rooms with lifting and moving moderate-weight equipment, while maintaining a clean service area and assisting with event preparation.

Candidate must be available to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Previous food and beverage experience in events is an asset.
• Must have Food Safe Level 1 and Serving It Right certificate.
• Must be available to work various shifts (AM, MID or PM) including weekends and holidays.
• Must be an excellent team player and able to work with a diverse group of individuals and guests.
• Must be able to engage customers in a professional conversation at all times.
• Must be able to prioritize and multi-task effectively.

Responsibilities

• Set-ups and tear down of banquet rooms and events spaces.
• Maintain a sanitary event service station and replenish stock.
• Coordinate with staff and clients to ensure smooth event execution.
• Assist with general events preparation and cleanup.

Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a talented, customer service oriented and dedicated Event ServicesHouseperson (Regular) to join our Event Services team.

The Event Services Houseperson is responsible for set-ups and tear down of Banquet rooms in which a great deal of lifting, carrying, and moving moderate weight equipment is involved. This is a fast-paced position with continual customer contact. Other duties include general events preparation and maintaining a sanitary environment (Event service station setups, stock replenishment, equipment organization and cleaning).

Candidate must be available to work flexible shiftsincluding weekends and holidays Shifts could either be opening shifts (AM, MID or PM) which start at 5:00AM and/or closing shifts until 2:30AM.

Starting wage for this position is $22.78 per hour, after 6 months wage is $26.57 per hour, after 1 year wage is $30.37 per hour.
