Job summary

Edmonton Arena Corp. at Rogers Place is seeking an enthusiastic Event Security Agent (Part-Time) to join our Fan Experience and Security team. You will help create a welcoming, safe environment for our guests and staff during events, using professional service and security protocols.

The role requires 50% event availability and a pay rate of $19.50 per hour. Valid Alberta SSIA license, ProServe and ProTech, and First Aid/ CPR are assets.

Responsibilities

• Greet fans and welcome them with our signature approach.
• Educate guests about Rogers Place services and products.
• Promote a safe and kind environment for guests and staff.
• Adhere to Rogers Place policies, procedures and code of conduct.
• Screen fans during ingress using metal detectors and hand wanding techniques.
• Conduct bag searches.
• Patrol assigned areas.
• Respond to emergency situations.
• Attend to guest incidents with de-escalation.
• Liaise with police and medical teams during incidents.
• Complete incident reports and documentation for security events.

Our Fan Experience and Security team is providing world class customer service that exceeds our guests' expectations and creates memorable moments that last a lifetime. As a member of our Fan Experience and Security team, you will have an opportunity to create a welcoming and exciting environment that brings the best fans in the country to their feet.

Requirements:

• Valid Alberta Security Services and Investigator Act License (SSIA)
• Valid ProServe and ProTech (easily attainable online)
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR C is an asset

50% availability; you must be available for 50% of the events scheduled at Rogers Place in a month.

• Make all our fans feel welcome by greeting them with our signature approach.
• Enhance our fans' experience through sharing and educating them about Rogers Place services and products.
• Promote a safe and kind environment comfortable for guests and staff.
• Ensure adherence to Rogers Place policies, procedures and code of conduct.
• Screening fans during ingress using walk-through metal detectors and hand wanding techniques, & conducting bag searches
• Patrol assigned area(s).
• Respond to emergency situations.
• Attend to guest incidents while maintaining a positive demeanor while deescalating the situation.
• Liaison with Police and Medical during incidents to ensure the safest environment for guests and staff.
• Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents.
