Job summary

Dexterra Group in Halifax is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor - Event Facilities Services to lead frontline cleaning teams during high-profile events and large gatherings, ensuring a clean, safe, and guest-ready environment.

You will oversee event preparation, live events, venue turnovers, and post-event recovery, coordinating staff and maintaining WHMIS and health-and-safety standards across all areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; post-secondary in Facilities Management or related field is an asset.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience in facilities management, janitorial operations, or related environment.
• Experience leading teams in fast-paced, guest-facing environments.
• Knowledge of cleaning practices, floor care, equipment, chemicals, waste management, and event support services.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise cleaning teams across assigned areas and facilities.
• Coordinate staff activities during event preparation, live events, turnovers, and post-event recovery.
• Conduct shift briefings, assign tasks, and complete handovers.
• Ensure cleaning assignments are completed on time and to standards.
• Oversee staff deployment and respond to operational issues.
• Train and mentor frontline employees and temporary staff.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and compliance with safety requirements.
