Job summary

Metro Supply Chain Group in Calgary is seeking an Operations Supervisor for the 2:30 pm–11:00 pm shift. You will lead health and safety, operational performance, customer relations, continuous improvement, and people development on the shift.

Responsibilities include scheduling labour to meet production goals, conducting shift briefings, assigning tasks, prioritizing order sequences for on‑time deliveries, coaching staff, and tracking KPI data.

Qualifications

• 5+ years distribution experience, 3PL experience asset.
• 2+ years supervisory experience, preferably in a 3PL Ops role.
• Proficiency with MS software.
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

Responsibilities

• Schedule labour for the shift to meet production goals within budget.
• Complete shift briefings for effective communication.
• Assign and follow up with operators and staff on task durations.
• Ensure order sequences are picked by priority to reduce waiting times for drivers.
• Hold staff accountable for proper picking/packing and quality standards.
• Monitor and report KPI performance daily/weekly.
• Approve labour hours daily in line with policies and ensure correct payments.
• Provide daily coaching and timely performance appraisals.

Education

College Diploma in Business Management with focus in Logistics Management or equivalent experience
