Job summary

Riverstone Retirement Communities is seeking a dining room assistant to greet residents during meal times, serve meals, and maintain a clean, safe dining environment.

You will support daily operations by handling guest reservations, assisting with dietary needs, and ensuring safety in the dining area. A background in food service with seniors is preferred, with a strong focus on respectful, patient care.

Qualifications

• Food service experience, preferably with seniors.
• Knowledge of WHMIS and safe food handling.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand/walk during shifts.
• Ability to provide residents with high-quality service with respect and awareness of needs.

Responsibilities

• Present in dining room to receive residents at meal times.
• Serve food observing special diets and preferences.
• Clear tables; load and operate dishwasher; assist with ware washing.
• Check guest reservations at start of shift and coordinate with Reception.
• Ensure walking aids are stored outside dining room and not as hazards.
• Prepare tables per facility standards and serve refreshments as assigned.
• Notify Dining Room Manager of supplies to order.
• Carry out other duties as assigned and follow policies.
• Communicate through department log and complete daily Meal Monitors.
