Job summary

Rhyno Equity Group is seeking an Intermediate Estimator who will develop estimates for aluminum railing projects, collaborate with the Estimating/Sales team to identify leads, and support production, installation, and client inquiries. The role involves remote work within the GTA with occasional site visits, and close cooperation with Sales, design and production departments.

• 3+ years of experience in the construction industry, preferably with aluminum railings/ornamental steel
• Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Building Connect and Procore
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements to prepare estimates for aluminum railing projects

• Prepare and submit detailed quotations and proposals to clients, contractors, and builders

POSITION SUMMARY- Intermediate Estimator

The Intermediate Estimator will be responsible for completing Estimates for projects across the business. The role involves working with clients conceptualizing, planning, and preparing estimations and creative design proposals for presentation. In addition, you will work with the Estimating/Sales team in finding new opportunities that align with the corporate strategy, identify sales leads, and maintain relationships with current and new contacts. This role will provide you with support to obtain new leads and drive new sales. You are innovative, creative and a team player who is able to lead by example in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

The successful candidate will predominantly be based in GTA working remotely within the current Estimating/Sales team, developing relationships with key stakeholders, bidding on projects, and hosting visits for showroom tours and qualification. Some site visits may be required. He/she is detail oriented and can confidently support production, installation, and client inquiries as needed. The selected candidate will work closely with Sales, design and production departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements to prepare accurate estimates for aluminum railing projects.
• Perform material quantity take-offs and cost calculations.
• Prepare and submit detailed quotations and proposals to clients, contractors, and builders.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain pricing for materials and services.
• Evaluate project scope, timelines, and installation requirements.
• Participates in various departmental and interdepartmental meeting or training as required
• Prequalify potential clients with appropriate questions to establish budget, timelines, and compatibility, prepare quotations and site installation meetings as required
• Assist in change orders with the project managers
• Manage clients’ expectations by informing them of company processes, policies, and timelines
• Update clients of business changes such as product offering, pricing, or assembly options
• Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

• Must have 3+ years of experience in the construction industry, preferably with within aluminum railings/ miscellaneous steel/ornamental steel
• Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Building Connect and Procore
• Knowledge of Division 05 (Metals) specifications and architectural metal products
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required
• Ability to conduct occasional site visits as required.
• Reliability, integrity, passion and in-person presentation skills with a strong ability to establish relationships and close deals
• Exceptional, industry leading, customer service skills with a proven strength in exceeding client expectations and an ability to identify best product and fit for client needs
• A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
• Must be flexible with work hours
