Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in Oakville, Ontario, is seeking an Engineering Student for the Solar District. You will support analytics, procurement, and design coordination on real solar projects, contributing to PM4+ and Power BI dashboards.

This 8–16 month program starts January 2027, offering mentorship and hands-on learning with opportunities to transition into a full-time role after graduation.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a design function.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Application of various computer software programs will be required, including AutoCAD, word processing, and spreadsheet applications (Excel).
  • Familiarity with PM4+ and Power BI is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and reviews project data and prepares related analytics tools to analyze and interpret performance on solar projects.
  • Reports to commissioning and field staff all irregularities in data, monitoring trends in project performance.
  • Establishes new systems and processes and looks for opportunities to improve analytics tools.
  • Assisting with coordinating and managing the project design and procurement process which includes taking detailed meeting minutes and following up on open items.
  • Assisting with review of RFP documentation, drawings/diagrams, Commissioning plan and electrical studies for key design requirements.
  • Facilitating communication and collaboration between all project stakeholders by utilizing PM4+ to send RFIs and submittals.
  • Ensuring project compliance and quality through site OMs and warranty item tracking.
  • Streamlining project processes by converting excel inspection test plans into PM4+ ITP templates.
  • Supporting project success by developing and maintaining Power BI Synoptics design dashboards for projects.
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Developing and maintaining strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.

We are seeking an Engineering Student,, for our Solar District that is available for 8-16 months starting January 2027.

As an Engineering Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:
