Nomi Resort & Spa is preparing to launch a new Nordic hydrotherapy spa set within a private, nature-forward resort in Haliburton County. We are seeking a skilled, professional Esthetician who is excited to be part of a founding spa team and values quality, wellness, and lifestyle as much as technical excellence.

Company Description Nomi Resort is a four-season, 850-acre resort club community in the County of Haliburton, featuring luxury-inspired contemporary cottage units, a Condo-Resort, and future loft villa developments. The 40,000-square-foot resort club offers the 8FIFTY Lounge and LANDS8FIFTY restaurant, providing elevated culinary experiences framed by expansive views of the surrounding natural landscape. Current and future amenities include wellness spaces such as hot tubs, saunas, an infinity pool, fitness studios, steam rooms, trails, and a private waterfront clubhouse on 1,800 feet of shoreline. Located near Algonquin Provincial Park, Nomi Resort focuses on reconnecting guests with nature through spa treatments, nature walks, and holistic wellness experiences. Spa Derma, the onsite spa, offers curated facials and body treatments designed to relax, rejuvenate, and create an immersive escape for guests.

Role Description The Esthetician role at Nomi Resort is a full-time, on-site position based in Haliburton, ON, working within Spa Derma to deliver high-quality spa and wellness services. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing professional skin care treatments, facials, body treatments, and hair removal services aligned with resort standards and guest expectations. The Esthetician greets guests, conducts consultations, recommends appropriate treatments, and provides aftercare guidance and product recommendations to support ongoing wellness. This role involves maintaining clean and organized treatment spaces, adhering to health, safety, and sanitation protocols, and accurately documenting services. The Esthetician collaborates with spa and resort team members to support a seamless guest experience, contributes to retail sales of spa products, and may assist with special wellness events and promotions.

Providing facials, body treatments, and botanical service applications.

Adhering to appointments in a timely manner by monitoring time schedule.

Welcoming clients in a warm, friendly manner, accompanying them to and from treatment rooms, and thanking them sincerely on departure.

Interviewing clients to obtain information about contraindications, and examining skin to evaluate the suitability of treatments.

Advising clients on skincare, and recommending suitable treatments and home care regimens.

Engaging and conversing with clients during sessions on topics relating to their interests.

Maintaining product knowledge to promote and sell spa and salon services, and retail products.

Adhering to esthetics policies pertaining to chemical usage, and cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance of equipment.

Caring for linens and replacing them between sessions.

Ceasing treatment and informing supervisor in the event of inappropriate guest behavior.

5+ years of industry experience.

Medical Esthetics – in handling laser treatments a bonus

Proficient in performing all applicable treatments.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Outstanding people skills and a warm, friendly manner.

Ability to maintain client confidentiality.

This position will require you to service a variety of spa treatments to our guests according to the protocols and procedures provided by the Nomi Resort Club Spa, attend training sessions on products and services available to our guests, and act as a true team player.

Successful Candidates will be goal oriented, flexible, reliable, dedicated, learning-minded, passionate, professional and able to work days, and weekends.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Ensuring that Nomi Resort achieves or exceed the clubs’ goals relating to revenue and cost of operations while providing the highest level of customer service
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the spa facilities and working operation of all Spa equipment
• Guaranteeing the esthetic beauty and tranquility of the Spa facilities to promote a relaxing and appealing environment

Additional Qualifications

The successful candidate must have the following experience, skills, and education:

• Experienced in Body Work Treatments
• Experienced as a Spa Esthetician
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent time management, organizational and follow-up skills
• Ability to utilize new techniques and ideas
• Database Management and Product ordering
• Five (5) years of experience with proven leadership ability in a spa, retail or professional setting
• Must be enthusiastic, personable, and ambitious

The successful candidate must possess the following attributes and qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years experience in Hospitality or Spa Services
• Extremely detailed oriented and organized
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – Can-Do Attitude
• Creativity – think “Outside the Box”
• Initiative – take ownership of the position
• Punctual, reliable, flexible
• Highly skilled in MS Office and Excel
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
