Qualifications

  • Experience in major Canadian companies; retail; consumer packaged goods; management consulting; compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Support planning, coordination and execution of sustainability programs and initiatives across the business.
  • Support colleague engagement initiatives, events and campaigns related to sustainability.
  • Assist ESG Integration projects by coordinating inputs, maintaining trackers and following up on actions.
  • Assist in developing internal/external communications and materials for program objectives and impact.
  • Conduct research on sustainability trends and help prepare materials and resources for integration across the business.
  • Support program tracking, data collection and analysis to measure progress and communicate impact.
  • Coordinate project information, timelines, meetings and resources for program delivery.

Winter 2027 Work Term

The pay range for the co-op student role will reflect factors such as the candidate's experience, academic level, and the specific skillset required for the role.

Loblaw has adopted the following hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues can work remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office (to be determined by each business unit).

Loblaw has a purpose-led Environmental, Social, and Governance (program) that has been in existence for almost 2 decades and is increasingly well recognized by the company’s many stakeholders. We are looking for a Sustainability & Community Investment Intern to help deliver priority ESG initiatives across the company’s various divisions and businesses. The ESG Integration and Reporting team is a central hub that ensure activities are well coordinated and tracked over multi-year project timelines to deliver against the company’s ambitious environmental, social and governance commitments, and ultimately disclose our results using industry best practice.

Role Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a passion for contributing to Loblaw’s purpose – helping Canadians Live Life Well® – and advancing positive environmental and social impact.
  • Support the planning, coordination and execution of sustainability and community investment programs and initiatives across the business, including coordination with internal teams and community partners.
  • Support colleague engagement initiatives, events and campaigns that bring Loblaw’s sustainability and community investment priorities to life.
  • Support ESG Integration projects by coordinating inputs across internal teams, maintaining project trackers, and following up on key actions and deliverables.
  • Assist in developing internal and external communications, presentations and other materials that effectively communicate program objectives, activities and impact.
  • Conduct research and benchmarking on emerging sustainability, climate, community investment and social impact trends, programs and best practices, and help prepare materials, tools and resources that support the integration across the business.
  • Support program tracking, data collection and analysis to help measure progress, identify insights and communicate environmental and social impact.
  • Coordinate project information, timelines, meetings and resources to support effective program delivery.
Role Requirements:
  • University degree or enrollment in a relevant program
  • 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Familiarity with ESG subject matter, measurement, reporting protocols, tools and best practices.
